A British citizen staying in India cannot claim Right to
- AFreedom of trade and professionCorrect
- BEquality before the Law
- CProtection of life and personal liberty
- DFreedom of religion
Explanation
In the Indian Constitution, certain Fundamental Rights are available only to citizens of India and are not extended to foreigners. These include the rights guaranteed under Articles 15, 16, 19, 29, and 30.
The Right to Freedom of trade and profession is part of Article 19 1 g. Since Article 19 is exclusively reserved for Indian citizens, a British citizen staying in India cannot claim this right.
On the other hand, Equality before the Law Article 14, Protection of life and personal liberty Article 21, and Freedom of religion Articles 25 to 28 are available to both citizens and foreigners alike, which is why options B, C, and D can be claimed by a British citizen.
