Explanation

Raja Wodeyar founded the Kingdom of Mysore in 1612 after capturing Seringapatam from the viceroy of the Vijayanagar Empire. At that time, the central power of the Vijayanagar Empire had shifted to Penukonda and later Chandragiri following the Battle of Talikota. The ruler of the Vijayanagar Empire during this period was Venkata II, also known as Venkatapati Raya, who reigned from 1585 to 1614. He was the most powerful king of the Aravidu Dynasty and officially confirmed Raja Wodeyar as the ruler of Mysore.
