Passage - II opened the bag and packed the boots in; and then, just as I was going to close it, a horrible idea occurred to me - Had I packed my toothbrush? I don't know how it is, but I never do know whether I've packed my toothbrush. My toothbrush is a thing that haunts me when I'm travelling, and makes my life a misery, I dream that haven't packed it, and wake up in a cold perspiration, and get out of bed and hunt for it. And, in the morning, I pack it before I have used it, and it is always the last thing I turn out of the bag; and then repack and forget it, and have to rug upstairs for it at the last moment and carry it to the railway station, wrapped up in my pocket- handkerchief. Explanation

The passage states, "and have to rug upstairs for it at the last moment and carry it to the railway station, wrapped up in my pocket- handkerchief." This explicitly describes the final location and manner in which he carries his toothbrush. A) in his bag: While he packs it in his bag, he then takes it out, forgets it, and has to retrieve it again. Its final state is not in the bag. B) in his bed: The passage mentions getting out of bed to hunt for it, but this is not its final location. C) in his handkerchief: This is directly stated in the last sentence as its final state before going to the railway station. D) lost: The toothbrush is never lost; he always finds it, even if it's at the last minute.
