Explanation

The correct answer is C because the Assertion is true but the Reason is false. The Assertion is true as Muhammad bin Tughlaq did leave Delhi in 1338 to live in a camp called Swargadwari on the banks of the Ganges near Kannauj for about two and a half years. The Reason is false because his departure was not due to a plague in Delhi. He left primarily because of a severe and prolonged famine in the Delhi region that made it impossible to sustain the imperial court and army.
