Explanation

Assertion A is true because alcohol acts as a diuretic, which increases the production of urine and the frequency of urination. Reason R is false because alcohol actually inhibits or suppresses the secretion of vasopressin also known as anti-diuretic hormone from the posterior pituitary gland. Vasopressin normally helps the kidneys reabsorb water back into the bloodstream.
