We have hard work ahead. There is no resting for any of us till we redeem our pledge in full fill we make all the people of India what destiny intends them to be. We are citizens of a great country, on the verge of bold advance, and we have to live up to that high standard. All of us, to whatever religion we may belong, are equally the children of India with, equal rights, privileges and obligations. We cannot encourage communalism or narrow mindedness, for no nation can be great whose people are narrow in thought or action. The challenge the author of the above passage throws to the public is to achieve what destiny intends them to be. Explanation

The passage emphasizes several key challenges: 1. "redeem our pledge in full fill we make all the people of India what destiny intends them to be" - This points to the fulfilment of destiny. 2. "live up to that high standard" - This refers to the standard of a great country on the verge of bold advance. 3. "All of us, to whatever religion we may belong, are equally the children of India with, equal rights, privileges and obligations" - This highlights the importance of equal rights and privileges. 4. "We cannot encourage communalism or narrow mindedness" - This directly calls for political tolerance and rejection of narrow-mindedness, especially communalism which is often politically motivated. Let's analyze the options: A) a high standard of living, progress and privileges * "High standard of living" is not explicitly mentioned as the challenge; rather, it's about living up to a "high standard" of nationhood. "Progress" is implied, but "privileges" needs the qualifier "equal". This option is incomplete and slightly misinterprets "high standard". B) equal privileges, fulfilment of destiny and political tolerance * "equal privileges": Directly stated ("equal rights, privileges and obligations"). * "fulfilment of destiny": Directly stated ("what destiny intends them to be"). * "political tolerance": Strongly implied by the rejection of "communalism or narrow mindedness". Communalism is a form of political intolerance based on religious identity. This accurately captures the essence of the passage's call. C) spirit of adventure and economic parity * "Spirit of adventure" might be loosely linked to "bold advance" but is not the central challenge. "Economic parity" is not mentioned or implied in the passage. D) hard work, brotherhood out national unity * "Hard work" is mentioned as a means to achieve the goals, not the ultimate challenge itself. "Brotherhood and national unity" are certainly implied by the call against communalism and for equal status, but this option misses the explicit mentions of "equal privileges" and "fulfilment of destiny" which are central to the author's challenge. Option B is the most comprehensive and accurate summary of the specific challenges the author throws to the public, directly reflecting the key phrases and ideas in the passage. The final answer is B
